The forecast has trended colder and snowier, with 6 to 9 inches of snow expected north and west of the I-95 corridor, including Philadelphia. Residents are also being warned of dangerously cold conditions that could pose significant risks through midweek (see snow map above and winter weather advisories below).

Dangerously Cold Conditions to Follow
Once the snow ends Sunday night, the region will face dangerously cold conditions through Wednesday night, Jan. 22.
- Wind Chills Below Zero: Minimum wind chills are expected to fall below 0°F, creating an increased risk of hypothermia and frostbite for people and animals.
- Prolonged Freeze: Highs will remain in the teens, and overnight lows will drop into the single digits or below zero. Temperatures will stay below freezing from Sunday night through at least Friday.
- Infrastructure Risks: Frozen pipes, increased demand for heating energy, and hazardous conditions for outdoor activities and infrastructure are expected.
The NWS warns that freezing spray and increased ice cover will create additional hazards for marine vessels on open waters, back bays, the Delaware Bay, and the tidal Delaware River from Sunday night through midweek.
New Jersey has declared a State of Emergency which went into effect Sunday morning at 8.
